Frequently Asked Questions

More information about our simulations, the solving process and the output format of the ranges.

What is the standup game?

The standup game, sometimes known as squid game or nit game, is a game where players pay a penalty if they are the last player to win a hand. In this game the players are incentivized to play more hands preflop, with vastly different strategy to regular hold'em. For example, if the penalty is 3bb per player, the last person to win a hand outright pays each player 3bb, for a total of 15bb in a 6max game.
